We hope this information helps guide your commentary in the critique. This year, because so many of our members were only able to publish digital PDF editions instead of print due to remote learning, MIPA allowed our members to submit entries as PDFs. Please offer plenty of useful feedback. We suggest you find at least 1-3 positive things to say for each area of the judging guide and 1-3 recommendations for improvement - regardless of the score in that area. In other words, we want to see encouraging, constructive criticism.

2024-25 editions submitted for additional evaluation

We allow our members to request one re-evaluation for any reason. Sometimes we do a second critique because the first critique didn't meet our standards, sometimes we do it because the adviser disagrees with the score or feedback from the first critique (regardless of whether we think the critique was fair and accurate), and sometimes an adviser simply wants feedback from another person.

We ask you to treat each of these publications as though it hasn't ever been critiqued before. You may have a Spartan-worthy publication here — and you just as likely may not.
